The source explains the name Rishyasringa itself as a birth-description: he is said to have been born with a horn (shR^i~Nga) on the crown of his head, giving the sage (R^iSi) his name -- and notes shR^i~Nga also means 'peak', so the name doubles as calling him an acme among sages.
