Desiraju Hanumanta Rao's prose rendering with embedded explanatory notes
The source flags Janaka's deliberate use of the word 'even' (or 'also') here -- 'I will show it, even to Rama and Lakshmana' -- as a sign that Janaka is still placing the princes on par with the other kings who have already tried and failed to lift the bow. He is not yet crediting them with any special or superhuman capability; that is why his subsequent offer is phrased conditionally, beginning with 'if.'
